Client Feedback - The Art List

Joseph Hollinshead, President and Editor of TheArtList.com required that his static site be moved to a more database-driven dynamic site. Turning to an evergrowing number of online "job boards" in search of a development team that could assist his company in this venture. Shawn Thompson from Strategic Data Alliance Consulting, Inc. saw their ad, identified their need and worked to resolve their issues.

From a questionnaire received by Joseph, President and Editor of TheArtList.com...

Q:  How did you come about working with Strategic Data Alliance Consulting, Inc.?
A:  "I discovered SDAC-INC when I posted a database project RFP on a website called Scriptlance.com where webmasters can submit a project for programmers to bid on. We were looking for a programmer with strong web and database skills to take a manual insertion/posting process of Art content to our website, and build a small database application around our existing format. With this project, we were not only looking to simplify our CMS (content management system), but also to create a deeper navigation/search functionality for our users."

Q:  Why did you choose Strategic Data Alliance Consulting, Inc. to assist you in your development needs?
A:  "I selected SDAC for several reasons. The first was that SDAC was the only firm to quickly, thoroughly, and accurately respond to our project RFP. Shawn Thompson, our SDAC project leader, took the time to ask for project specifics, not just what we wanted accomplished in the build, but what the goals were and what our priorities for the overall project. This thouroughness made it easier for Shawn to provide a very realistic and accurate budget estimate and schedule. He also gave great advice on ways to accomplish the project and opened the door for a strong communication at the beginning of the project.

The second reason I chose SDAC-Inc. was because it is a US firm, as opposed to many overseas firms that were competing for the bid. Being domestically located was important for several reasons:

  • I was able to guarantee a strong line of communication with no time/language/phone bill issues.
  • I was using this project to "try" out a firm for a larger project down the road and wanted to start a relationship with a firm that I could easily meet with locally.
  • Security is a big concern and I did not feel comfortable with an overseas firm handling secure/private information.
  • I feel that we should be supporting our own economy, and not directing our money or work overseas."

Q:  Based on the nature of the work required, were they ablet to satisfy your needs?
A:  "Yes, The project that I had SDAC undertake was simple in concept but relatively complex in execution. Shawn Thompson not only developed the project according to our needs and specifications, he also went a few steps further and built in additional functionality so that future development efforts would not require a complete rebuild from scratch."

Q:  What feature or features about the personnel and/or the service provided to you like most, and least?
A:  "Strong work ethic, strong communication - regular email status updates, phone calls, ability to be flexible during the development process, and great personality."

Q:  Would you recommend Strategic Data Alliance Consulting, Inc. to others, and do you plan to work with them in future endeavors?
A:  "Yes, Although this first project was relatively small in scope I am very confident in SDAC's team, resources, capability, and dedication to take on any of our larger development efforts."

Q:  Any final words for others?
A:  "I firmly recommend SDAC-INC for any database/web programming project."
